Greetings from Mahaballipuram... Posted by Hello

Woke up at 4:30 AM to catch the sunrise...it was worth losing a few hours of sleep. I wasnt carrying a tripod...this was the best I could manage with a chair :-)

The settings:
First snap: 200, f/16, 1/8s
Second snap: 200, f/16, 1s
EV: I havent made a note..but I think both were 1/2 a stop underexposed.

Sudarshan, these are beautiful, the afterglow, the last light before darkness. Did you learn anything while you were away? Welcome back.

Nish, Suyog, Maran, Satz, Mermaid, Vevck, Kousik: Thanks for your kind words guys. I have been thinking of doing something different but nature shots are like an uncurable disease. So I just cant resist posting them (Kousik has been very encouraging time and again).
Mermaid, everyday is a learning process but honestly couldnt do much photography during my trip. Shall soon post whatever little I could do.

Both I found exceptional, Biblical. Not sure why, but my first impression. Maybe they evoke larger than life emotions. Keep doing without fail Sud..with lots of love, josh

The first one is very very striking and beautiful. There is so much in this picture.

The second one grows on you. Silently entices.

Wonderful shots!
